Koh Petra

About Koh Petra     please visit Thailand´s islands

Koh Petra is a steep rocky island west of Koh Sukorn. It is part of the Mu Koh Petra Marine Nationalpark, that covers parts of the marine area of Trang and Satun province. There are two beautiful beaches on the eastern side: Petra beach and Kam beach, separated by a huge rock. The steep walls on all sides of the island are home of thousands of sea swallows, who made the island a protected place. In the past, sea turtles were breeding on the white sandy beaches. The surrounding coral reefs are widely destroyed due to explosive fishery years ago.

How to get there

Visiting Koh Petra is prohibited. A special permission from the administration of the park is necessary. Longtail boats need 10-15 minutes from Koh Laoliang and about 30-45 minutes from Koh Sukorn.
